Compliance

AS 2159:2009. Every pile. Every job.

Tier-1 principal contractors don't accept piling without compliance. Neither do we. Every project leaves our yard with the AS 2159 pack complete.

What we supply

The full compliance pack.

  • Design report & calculations per AS 2159 Sections 4-6.
  • Pile schedule — capacity, depth, diameter and acceptance criteria per pier.
  • Install records — torque logs, founding-stratum logs, pour records per pile.
  • Chartered engineer certification — signed letter with capacity demonstration.
  • Material certification — mill certs, concrete dockets, galvanising batch records.
  • As-built layout — survey-verified, drawing-referenced, ITP-closed.
  • Load test reports — static, dynamic (PDA), maintained-load, when specified.

Related standards we design to

  • AS 2159:2009 — Piling design and installation.
  • AS 5100.3:2017 — Bridge design: foundations and soil-supporting structures.
  • AS 4678:2002 — Earth-retaining structures.
  • AS/NZS 4680:2006 — Hot-dip galvanising of steel.
  • AS/NZS 1170 series — Structural design actions.
  • AS 3600:2018 — Concrete structures.
  • NCC Volume 1 — National Construction Code.
  • Principal contractor, client and superintendent standards are layered on top of these as required.

FAQ

AS 2159 questions we get.

What is AS 2159?

AS 2159:2009 is the Australian Standard for piling design and installation. It governs geotechnical strength reduction factors (Φg), design capacity, installation monitoring, load testing and documentation for every pile that goes in the ground.

Why does it matter on tier-1 projects?

Principal contractors and superintending engineers will not sign off pier work without an AS 2159 design pack, torque / pour logs, founding-stratum records and chartered engineer certification. If the paperwork is not right, the lot is not handed over.

What documentation do you issue per job?

A complete AS 2159 pack: design report and calculations, pile schedule, as-installed records, chartered-engineer certification letter, material certs for steel / concrete / galvanising, and as-built layout — typically the day the last pile is installed.

Do you run static and dynamic load tests?

Yes, via accredited testing engineers. Static compression, tension, lateral, and dynamic PDA tests can be specified into any scope — results feed directly into the AS 2159 capacity demonstration.
